Zombie Rashguards- Sun Beware!

Zombie Rashguards- Sun Beware!

Hooray!!  We are so close to the official start of summer I can taste it!   My kids love to be outside and love the water.   I love when they are outside- that's less time they are bothering me inside.... kidding.... kind of.   What I don't love is the sunblock game.  We use the super natural blah blah blah kids kind and they are always really thick and sticky and trying to chase down my kids to get it on is always super fun.  Plus that's another bath or two when I'm already giving two a day from the dirt!  Insert mommy's favorite time saver-  The Rashguard.  You get sun coverage for your littles without all the mess!  Especially nice for little babies that you can't use SPF on yet.  Heck, I even love them!

Today I'm featuring Peekaboo Patterns High Ten Rashguard pattern.   It's a super quick easy sew even for beginners.   The size range runs from 3 months to 12 years giving you the option of a short or long sleeve as well as a  color blocking side stripe.   Generally, you want rashguards to be form fitting for optimal sun coverage and comfort when wet so I'd recommend measuring your little to be safe.  For mine, I actually made the size up because I'm cheap and want my kids Rockerbye to last forever (we already have a few in his size too). Plus we don't do a ton of actual swimming mostly just playing in kiddie pools and water tables.   So you can see it's a bit big on him and loose but still super cute. Obviously, he loves it.

Quick tangent-  Can we talk a bit about the quality of Rockerbye swim real quick??   This stuff is AMAZING.  Seriously the perfect weight with 50+ SPF built in.  Perfect protection for you and your kids and those colors. I mean... have you seen how vibrant these are!?! It's also super easy to work without being crazy slippery.  If you didn't get any during the re-run I would recommend using your fast fingers to scoop some up during retail! Okay, tangent over.

Back to the Rashguard!  It's definitely a summer staple and I'd absolutely recommend picking up your own copy here!  It'll last you 12 years of kids sewing. ;)   Peekaboo Patterns has generously offered to give a pattern to one of you lucky winners!  So go ahead and enter below for your chance to win, grab your Hang Ten pattern, sew up your Rockerbye, and please please share in the group!

Happy Sewing and Rocking!

He is the cutest!! He’s totally embracing the modeling life! I really need to try this though! My kid got the super pale Gene from daddy.

We use the best natural sun protection I could find, but my daughter has eczema flare ups when we use it. So we are going the “cover yourself” way and this rashguard idea is exactly what I need!
