The Dress That Grows With You!

You know when unexpectedly fall head over heels with a pattern?  Well, that just happened to me and I had to share my joy with you!   I always like to make my handmade sews last as long as possible obviously, so when I came across the Apple Tree Patterns Grow with Me Dress I knew I needed to give it a try for Sutton.   I've used their grow with me sweatshirts in the past (I even featured them here) and have loved them so I couldn't wait to give this a whirl. Well, let's just say expect to see a whole lot more Sutton in this dress because I'm obsessed!

Like their pants and sweatshirts- the dress is made to last a long time on your child- quite literally growing with them!   It's is available in 4 different sizes, 3m-12m, 12m-3t (what I made Sutton),  3-6, 6-9, and 9-13.  So most of the sizes you get 3 years of use out of!! How amazing is that??  For the dress, you can choose between a long skirt dress or a short skirt tunic/shirt.   For Sutton since she's not quite 12m I went with the short skirt so right now it's a dress but when she's three it'll be more like a shirt/tunic!   It has a super cute cross over hood and foldable long sleeve bands.   To sweeten the deal there is a great blog post here about how to hack it to have a neckband or short sleeves!  

I'm so in love!! the little high low that's built-in is just perfect. It's great in general but even better for holiday fabrics so it's not one year they are wearing them!  I made her brothers some cardigans last year sized up so they could wear them this year with the matching red/green combo I bought and hoarded for her. I know I'm biased but how cute are they!?
