Suspender Skirts and Rompers for all the Rockerbye Babes!

Suspender Skirts and Rompers for all the Rockerbye Babes!

Spring has finally sprung and it's time to get those warm-weather sews started! I've got the most adorable pattern to share with you all that will take you all the way from spring even into winter!  Introducing, Made for Mermaids Baby Samantha Suspender Skirt pattern!   If you are familiar with Made for Mermaids at all you probably recognized the Samantha Suspender skirt as being one of their oldest most beloved patterns.  Well I wanted to love it but on Sutton, it just wasn't practical- her big old delicious tummy would just push it straight up to her armpits and I'd be fighting to pull it down non-stop.  Well no more! Baby Samantha to the rescue!

Baby Samantha has the cutest attached bloomers that not only hold the skirt in place but also cover up those little diaper bums!  Win-win! Plus it made the cutest short skirt option possible with peekaboo bloomers (show off those delicious baby thighs... yes please!)!  Baby Samantha comes in sizes newborn to 18-24 months and is loaded with options.  There's the traditional length skirt, the short skirt, faux button placket front, flat front, tie back suspenders, or knot front suspenders (perfect for those babes still spending a lot of time on their backs) and it includes a snap placket in the romper for easy diaper changes.

This adorable Rockerbye example is the knot front with faux button placket (yes I forgot the buttons- let that be a lesson not to procrastinate lol!) and the short skirt.

Are you dying yet?? Because I am!!  Now, these aren't Rockerbye but here are a few other examples of possibilities.  Really the world is yours!   It's designed for woven fabrics and looks adorable dressed for warm weather or with tights and cardigans for cold weather.

If you aren't a skirt fan there is even a romper only hack on the blog that is just too cute!

Loving the suspender skirt but your kiddo isn't in baby sizes?  Well, you can grab the original youth skirt that's now been updated to include pattern pieces and goes up to size 14!  There's even a dolly version if your little one loves dolls! All the patterns are on sale now until Sunday the 12th so scoop them up while you have the chance.   I'm dying to see a zombie version with brain bloomers!!  Who's going to do it!?  As always don't forget to share in the group!

Happy Sewing and Rocking

I don’t have a daughter, and may never have one. But I love this pattern so much that I couldn’t resist buying it. Hopefully I find someone to sew it for!
