Sewing Peonies and Rainbows
If you haven't seen it by now, Rockerbye is running the sweetest rainbow print ever with proceeds being donated to the One's People Project and I knew it needed to be a special sew! So after much debate I reached out to a Peony Patterns who has some of the sweetest dress patterns out there! I admired all the pretty patterns and stumbled upon the Wattle Dress. It's designed for knits which is what I had for my rainbows and knew it'd be the perfect option.
Oh I was not disappointed! Not only is it adorable but a very quick sew and is great for people new to sewing! The Wattle Dress comes in Baby (sizes newborn to 4years) or Child (sizes 1- 14 years). You can choose between cap, elbow, or full length sleeves. The elbow was just perfect for this in-between weather time to carry her to the warmer months. You can also choose between regular or mini lengths. I wanted to add a little extra flair so I chose mini and then cut a ruffle the length to make the regular length with about 3x the width. I then gathered and attached it and it turned out so sweet! Super easy to do as well just a lot of gathering.
Eeeee I just keep swooning over all of the cuteness!! And can we oooh and ahhh over that fabric again?? The lovely Jess of 28th Ave did such an amazing job designing it! Make sure you grab it on pre-order, available until the 14th- and don't forget part of the proceeds will be donated to charity! Talk about a win win!
Now for pattern deets- Peony Patterns is giving us a special discount for the Wattle pattern in either baby, child, or you can use it on the bundle for an even deeper discount! Use the code "ROCKERBYE" at checkout for 30% off now until the 14th! Make sure you visit the Peony Pattern Facebook group for some more inspiration too! They have a ton of cute woven patterns as well that would be so cute with RBD woven. As always- I can't wait to see what you create! Thanks for reading <3
