One pattern- double the fun!

One pattern- double the fun!

I'm so excited to be featuring Lowland Kids Overalls today.  This pattern is full of adorableness for kids Newborn all the way up to 9/10!  Overalls are pretty much timeless and I'm so glad I finally got the chance to sew these up! How stinking cute are these!?!

The pattern comes with two options-  the knotted front as shown on Sutton which goes up to size 9/10  and a cross back option that goes up to size 5!  A couple of things to be aware of with this pattern is it runs slim as they mention in the directions.  I would definitely recommend measuring your little one and grading as necessary.   We all know Sutton has curves so I graded for them;). I also went one extra in length for longer wear this fall and winter.   The next one I make I'll probably add some length to the straps as well for a little more hangover and growing room.   You can really play around to get the look you want for your kiddo. If you want something more fitted or baggier you can easily just adjusting your grading. Rember if you decided to do reversible it'll be more fabric in the leg areas so take account for that when grading too!

The pattern doesn't come as reversible but it's an incredibly easy hack!  You'll just cut two full sets instead of the facing.  Sew it the same as the instructions but sew your crotch curves separately.  Then you'll just turn through the leg holes and hem them inside each other.   If you need help just give me a shout out! ;)

I used french terry and cotton lycra for this pair and did grommets instead of buttonholes! I do have to untie one knot to get it on and off but it's not a big deal ;).  My machine wasn't playing nice with button holes plus this turned out cute! Check out their lookbook for more inspiration!  I can't wait to sew up a cute fall pair and a black and white cords pair!

So you all need these right!?!  Lowland Kids has so generously offered us Rockerbyers a special discount code of $2 off!  It's valid through the 31st so don't delay.  Use the code LKOVERALLS at checkout!  Make sure you share your sews over in the Lowland Kids Sewing group and give them a big thanks as well!   Finally, don't forget to grab your pink skulls because the pre-order is closing soon on 9/1!

Happy Sewing and Rocking,

Michelle

So cute! Makes me wish I knew how to sew.

That’s crotch seam not crutch!!!! Arghhh! Autocorrect!!!

Kathleen

So here I go: I’m making these lines coveralls for my granddaughter. I sewed the side seams and the crutch seams as though I’m making two overalls. I did not sew the underarm seams or the top and back. I placed one overall within the other right sides together. How do I apply the straps and sew the top and back and then turn them???
