Knotty Pants for everyone!

Knotty Pants for everyone!

I'm so excited to be featuring Halla Patterns Knotty Pants for this week's blog!

Halla is full of amazing patterns so I could talk forever but they just released the children's Knotty Pants to go with the women's version released a few weeks ago!   Hooray!! All the mommy and me!   The Knotty Pants are not only adorable but loaded with a TON of options.

Let's start here with the women's version. The best part of about the Knotty Pants is they can be dressed up for a gorgeous out on the town/business look, or completely dressed down for the comfiest house pants ever.  They are called the Knotty Pants for the super cute tie option they give that can be worn in shorts, full length, or capri length.   You can also choose to skip the tie and go with the basic hemmed style.  Knotty Pants have two different waistband options- fold over or regular as well as a mid or low rise waist, and the option of scoop front pockets.

Sizing for the womens runs from size 00 to size 30 giving you a huge range to help you find the perfect fit.  A couple things to keep in mind with these is your fabric choice is going to drastically change the look of your pants.   Thicker less drapey fabrics such as cotton lycra, squish, french terry etc are going to give you a comfier look with a fatter knot while the fabrics with more drape such as bamboos, rayon spandex, and double brushed poly will give a sleek flowy look with a smaller knot.

Our lovely Amber made this awesome knotty pair out of Squish!   She wouldn't recommend doing the baby sizes with a knot out of squish as it'd get too thick for the knot but it worked perfectly for her epic zombie pants.

I decided to skip the knot for my squishy pants and just did the basic pant and you better believe I'm going to live in these all winter long with my preggo belly!  Of course, I had to make baby girl her matching pair for when she joins us in February! Did I mention Squish is heaven???

While it's not Rockerbye I wanted to give you a quick example of how the pants look in bamboo and double brushed poly as well.  Here is my Bamboo

And this adorable Mommy and Me set from Alexa Lach of Minnesewta Threads made in Double Brushed Poly

Finally- I bought this amazing french terry last winter and have been needing to make shorts to help with all this heat! (Plus most my regular shorts won't button anymore :P)    So I tried out the plain shorts option (not tie) with a few little tweaks.  The shape is still the same and it's love but instead of a regular hem, I rolled the hem twice the opposite way and tacked the sides for that cute french terry look.  I also cut the waistband in about half and added a fun little drawstring.  They turned out so cute and baby girl has a pair to match next summer!

For the Girls pattern, you get all the same options just without the knotted shorts.  Sizing runs from 0/3 month to 12-14 year!  They will last you forever!!  They even work perfectly for boys. I'm so excited to sew up some more.

Now since I know you are dying to make all the Rockerbye Knotty Pants here is how to get the patterns on sale! The girls pants are automatically marked down from $9.95 to $7.95-  hooray!  Of course, you need the Mama pair to go with it- well in mommy and me fashion, they have a coupon code for 20% off your entire cart using the code KNOTTY.  Hurry though over to Halla Patterns though, because both discounts only last through 8/24!

Thanks for reading! Don't forget to share your sews in the group!

Happy Sewing and Rocking,

Michelle
