Whelp this is a fun blog!! I was super lucky and was chosen to test the new Menta Wrap Shoes. I knew right away I needed to use some of my Rockerbye! They did not disappoint. It's a super easy sew with a bunch of options for both young kids up to adult sizes! The wrap shoes are a perfect house shoe or can even be a real shoe depending on your fabric and sole choices!

The kids sizes are from size 2 (approx US size 5.5/6) to size 7 (approx size 13) and adults are XS (approx 5.5/6 womens) to XXXL (approx 11.5/12 womens) . They are a unisex shoe and you definitely want to measure your foot to pick your size. If you are between sizes it's recommended to size down. The pattern even comes with a wide or regular foot options with instructions on how to do a narrow foot if needed as well.
For fabric choices it's recommend to use medium to heavy weight fabrics. I used french terry, fleece, and fleece lined pleather. It works with both knits and wovens which leaves you with tons of options! For RBD I'd recommend French Terry, Squish, Minky or Cotton Lycra. If you choose CL you'll want to use a thicker lining probably but they should all work fantastic. The pattern gives a ton of recommendations for different linings and sole fabrics to help you out.
There are also great instructions on how to do color blocked versions, appliques, hidden or exposed seams, and toe reinforcements. As you can see I went for the color blocked version with added applique and am thrilled how they turned out. (Don't have snaps?? There will be a blog post on how to make them without the added snap). I made my black and white stripe pair for my son and he absolutely loves them. So of course I had to make my own pair (not RBD but still fun). Although, I'm pretty jealous of his so I think a matching pair is in the books!
Check out these other adorable pairs from Synthia of "S4 And a Little More"
The new pattern is only on sale through Sunday for $7.99 so hurry over and grab your feet some love! I can't wait to see all the Rockerbye shoes!! Don't forget to share in our group and the Menta group!
Happy Sewing and Rocking
