Bagtastic blog!

Bagtastic blog!

So I'm not sure if you all remember or not but making a bag (or two) was on my make nine challenge for the year.  Well since we have woven fabric running in this pre-order I figured I'd give it a go!  I chose a bag without zippers for my first because well- let's not get too crazy.  I'm absolutely thrilled with how my new Bucket Bag from Gingercake Patterns turned out!  It was honestly so much easier than I thought it would be and is so functional and cute.  It's also a great scrap buster!

The instructions are fantastic and give you a very detailed list of all the items you'll need (no going to the store multiple times) and they are all items you can find at your local Joanns or fabric store!  That's where I got my strap, cording, button, interfacing, stabilizers, and grommets. The pattern worked fantastically with our new woven base just required a little extra fusible interfacing which is explained in the pattern instructions. Everything came together so quickly and it even has pockets on the inside for all your snacks and treasures ;). It's perfectly pieced for scrap busting and you can even add your own flair with different style straps, pull tabs, and maybe even some fun applique!

The Bucket bag is up for grabs here for only $5 but it's for a limited time so don't delay!  Gingercake has also offered us a free pattern to giveaway!  Since it's such a great scrap buster I was able to use the leftover fabric from my romper to make this bag.  Well, that left me with a fat half of the Accessibility print in woven to giveaway to one lucky winner too! Just enter the rafflecopter below for your chance to win the fat half and free pattern!  (If you win and already purchase the pattern you'll be refunded so no one misses out on the sale).

Also- don't forget to get your orders in for this pre-order including your wovens for your bucket bags! I can't wait to see them! I'm planning a monochrome cord one next.  Pre-order closes on 5/17!  Make sure to share your creations in our group.

Happy Sewing and Rocking!

This is the bag I didn’t know I needed! Perfect size to fit it all without being huge. Thank you for sharing this.

This is the perfect size for in between having to carry a diaper bag, and my kids being a little less maintenance!
